Scala Torres to bag easy win in Lesley Manning Memorial Trophy at Mildenhall

Combination of early pace and staying power can prove decisive for Scala Torres in Lesley Manning Memorial Trophy, being hosted by Mildenhall on Friday, December 14, 2012.

The white and blue bitch has shown a few brilliant performances lately. Winning two of the previous three races shows how good rhythm she is in.

On November 20th, P. Mingay?s charge scored by three quarters of a length. She could not continue the winning journey on her penultimate trip, when finishing second to Blackrose Zoe by one and a quarter lengths.

The daughter of Westmead Hawk, out of Malbay Sadie, returned to the winning ways in great style. From the fifth trap, she did an excellent job last time, and cruised to a comfortable 7-length triumph.

Having shown a few outstanding acts, the 3-year-old is all set to make an impact. Standing in the sixth box, the dashing bitch will be in a great position to go wide, and avoid a nudge from the neighbours.

Among her rivals are: Ard Vark, Blackrose Monach, Droopys Neale, Ballyhill Flash, and Pams Blue String. The 700 metres event is scheduled to begin at 21:30 GMT. In pursuit of a prize of 250 pounds, the hounds will unleash the best of their skills.

Ard Vark, the Essex Vase semi finalist, should appreciate the step up in trip. The draw is greatly in her favour. It will be interesting to see how the black bitch regains momentum following a terrible defeat at Romford.

Blackrose Monach has faced a few awful defeats lately. Ahead of finishing fifth at Henlow, the black dog completed the order of finish at Sheffield. It will be very hard for him to bounce back.

Droopys Neale has created upsets in the past, but the chances of one here are not bright. Ballyhill Flash is still seeking to chalk up that first victory. The white and black dog would be short of confidence after finishing at bottom of the table last time around.

Pams Blue String makes up for lost ground on the second circuit. This long-distance race will allow the black dog to make a recovery in the final stages, but he cannot afford to lose too much ground in the beginning.
