High school golf: Lafayette Jeff wins own regional

LaPorte?s Delanie Alcorn had the top score by an area golfer with a 91 at the Lafayette Jefferson Regional Saturday at Battle Ground Golf Club in Lafayette.

Lafayette Jefferson won the team title with a 352, beating Valparaiso, which also shot 352, on the fifth golfer?s score tiebreaker.

Chesterton was third with a 356 and will advance to next weekend?s state finals.

Glenn had a 448 as a team and New Prairie a 473. No area individuals, however, scored low enough to qualify for the state tournament.
